Fanfiception: DA My Little Slave fanPrequel Ch.1

The sun is raising, it’s a beautiful morning, wind is playing with the grass. Citizens of Great Islands of Equitopia are waking up, it’s a new day. They are cheerful and they have good reason for it. Today is first day of summer and all the ponies are expecting soon to jump into water and enjoy swimming in this warm day.

Pegaspolis, great city above sea in middle of the Equitopian islands, announced yesterday they managed to clear 20% more clouds than expected, so weather should be sunny for first summer day. This day no cloud is coming their way and only cloud on the sky is their own city. Clouds proved to be perfect building material in hooves of pegasi. Comfy, yet sturdy, and once put together by their magic, they never break, never vanish and only slightly move, even in gusts of wind.

Meanwhile, in Unicity, first unicorn university of magic and technology, preparations for big event began. It is ten years flat since Equitopia was founded and for that occasion, whole week of celebrations is expected, starting at the end of this day. Many fireworks are expected and judging by their amount, they are probably going to be visible from orbit. And of course as each year, they are going to need to prepare for visitors.

They come to Earthown, harbor town of Equitopia, ran by earth ponies. Its shores, being calmest of all islands and oriented towards the mainland, were an obvious choice. Each year, humans come to Equitopia for one of two reasons. Many come for a vacation, for its calm and friendly environment. Others however come here with a decision. Decision which is then sealed during a welcome party. Decision, which is going to change their life. Literally. Since Equitopian lifestyle appeal to many, each year Equitopia gains more and more various ponies from this event.

That is at least what we believed would happen, should we succeed in our efforts. It was light of our hopes, it was our foolish dream. What happened instead was a cold shower for all of us and turned out to be a nightmare.

Our progress was fast. In our group, there were even few top scientists, that were only  disgraced by their bold, yet not exactly ethical experiments. No-one, who had clean conscience would join us, as our project was beyond ethics as well. It turned out it was not only our only hope, but also our very doom.

We had been working for about three years and five months, we already had covered basics of a biological transmutation. Our RNA modifiers worked perfectly, we have mapped how we need to change each part of DNA and reached our first milestone in designing DNA, that would fit our template. Previous work from one of our scientists also blossomed in hands of our team; temporary rapid healing has proven to be helpful, as it allowed changes in DNA to take shape much sooner.

Our next steps were meant to be customizations, from various races, to various colors. We have been using our own blood samples as test material. Our current formula only managed to utilize person’s individual properties during the change. Having little to no data, result of these transformations seemed random. Unfortunately, once we collected enough data and started designing improved formula, which would allow each individual to choose their form, we’ve been betrayed.

In retrospect, it appears the mole was feeding the information from our project to the gang all along. For whichever reason they needed our formula, they must have grown impatient, since they had to know we were still working on refined formula. They appeared out of nowhere, during weekend when only few of our colleagues were working. Not only they took all the samples, they also had security codes to vaults and computers. When we arrived, they were already gone, the lab was completely raided and destroyed, our male colleagues were injured, female ones were missing, presumably abducted.
